Dear Female Friends,
My name is Dr. Cassandra Forsythe, and while I’m no man-hater (I appreciate and love my fellow male fitness enthusiasts and professionals 😉 ), I have long hated the fact that women and women’s topics are greatly under-represented in the fitness industry.
As a Registered Dietitian (RD) and a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) I have been seriously studying and practicing nutrition and fitness for 15 years now. I’ve had the pleasure of authoring 2 best-selling books, The New Rules of Lifting for Women and Women’s Health Perfect Body Diet, and am a fitness advisor for Women’s Health magazine. I also have spoke at over 30 fitness and nutrition conferences on topics related to women (and I was almost always the only woman presenter there…).
I’m not sharing these credentials and accomplishments to impress you in any way. Rather, I want to impress upon you that I have been heavily involved in the fitness industry with and around some pretty “big players.”
And, in all that time, with all those experiences, and around all those great people and publications I have yet to see an opportunity for women to get together to learn about and discuss topics that are important and relevant to them.
Sure, there has been a topic for women here and there at various conferences, but it’s always just that – a topic; just one stinkin’ hour in a whole one- or two-day event. I know because so many times I’ve been that one lone female presenter covering that one topic SPECIFIC FOR WOMEN.
And, guess what?
EVERY SINGLE TIME I present at a fitness conference, whether it be geared towards fitness professionals or fitness enthusiasts, women rush the stage afterwards to THANK me for covering a topic that’s truly important to them and for being a voice for women in fitness.

I recently attended and presented at The Fitness Summit this year, another outstanding conference, but once again women presenters and women’s specific topics were, in my opinion, under-represented. I must say though, the event was outstanding and the speakers were top notch…
Anyway, something in me finally clicked… I decided IT IS TIME…
